WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Tuesday, April 16, 2013, is the 6th annual National Healthcare Decisions Day, a collaborative effort of national, state and community organizations committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity in the United States have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions, recognized locally through the presentation of a Free Health Fair; and
WHEREAS the day’s activities include an afternoon of workshops, health screenings, and consultations on a number of relevant health topics; and
WHEREAS the mission of National Healthcare Decisions Day is to inspire, educate and empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning, and encourage patients to express their wishes regarding healthcare and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council strongly support the mission of today’s event, and wish to encourage and educate all residents on the importance of healthcare and advance care planning.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, April 16, 2013 as
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing the importance of education regarding healthcare planning and decision making.
