WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS as of May 16, 2012, Co-Presidents of the Friends of the Library, Bryna Thaler and Rosemary Leach, concluded their terms and the leadership positions they held since 2008; and
WHEREAS during the course of tenure, Bryna and Rosemary contributed to the doubling of membership of the Friends of the Library to over 600 active members and the establishment of an annual Scholarship Program for High School Seniors; and
WHEREAS responsibilities of the Co-Presidents included management of staff and stock at the Friends Gift Shop, oversight of monthly business meetings, and coordination of fundraisers since 2008, which have raised over $150,000 for the Cherry Hill Library; and
WHEREAS Bryna Thaler and Rosemary Leach truly embody the mission of the Friends of the Library to support the Library by promoting interest and raising money to support programs and other items not included in the Library’s budget; and
WHEREAS Mayor Cahn and Township Council are honored to recognize the exemplary efforts of volunteers and community leaders such as Bryna Thaler and Rosemary Leach; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Thursday, May 24, 2012, as
Friends of the LibraryRosemary Leach Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing Rosemary Leach for her continued dedication and hard work to The Friends of the Library and Cherry Hill Township.
