Mayor Cahn and Council honored the CHYAA Major 70 Red Sox with a Proclamation at the Council meeting on July 23, 2012
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association’s Red Sox have been named Mayor’s Cup, and Major 70 champions following an undefeated 2012 season; and
WHEREAS led by their invaluable coaches, the CHYAA Red Sox represented the Cherry Hill community positively and victoriously throughout their season, promoting a sense of pride in bringing the Mayor’s Cup Championship back to CHYAA; and
WHEREAS throughout Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association’s tenure of providing youth sports programs, the core encouragement of sportsmanship, hard work and determination has remained constant and been carried out by teams like the 2012 Major 70 Red Sox; and
WHEREAS as Mayor and Township Council, we acknowledge that extracurricular activities provide a variety of benefits to students, and we appreciate the endeavors of the coaches and parents who enthusiastically encourage and support these activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Monday, July 23, 2012, to be
CHYAA
Major 70-Red Sox Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in congratulating the players of Cherry Hill Youth Athletic Association Major 70 Red Sox on their accomplishments and commend the parents and coaches for their lessons on athleticism, teamwork and sportsmanship.
