WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS each year, M’kor Shalom holds its M’kor Or “Source of Light” Evening of Honors event to honor and recognize those congregants deemed to be “shining lights” for the congregation and the community; and
WHEREAS this year’s honorees are Harriet Uris, Judi Weinberg, Sarah Zalcmann, and Rolane Sunshine; and
WHEREAS this year’s Rising Star Award goes to Sarah Zalcmann, a selfless individual who is committed to promoting family programs and event, and a tireless champion for the Early Childhood Center, Parent Teacher Organization, and the synagogue; and
WHEREAS Harriet Uris and Judi Weinberg, who will receive this year’s Guiding Light Educators Award, have spent seventeen years as a teaching team and have nurtured, taught and loved hundreds of 3-year-old children in an environment that encourages curiosity and creativity; and
WHEREAS Rolane Sunshine will receive this year’s Marylee and Stuart Alperin Leadership Award for her dedication and commitment to Congregation M’kor Shalom through years of devotion and dedication; as the sixth president of M’kor Shalom, her capable leadership was key in the many important synagogue special events that occurred during her term; and
WHEREAS we are honored to recognize and congratulate this year’s Shining Lights; they are truly a remarkable group of individuals.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proudly recognize
