WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS tonight, we wish to honor Suzanne Ghee, Assistant Vice President of Strategic Business Growth and Community Health Engagement at Virtua, for being awarded the National Association of Women Business Owners’ Community Advocate of the Year; and
WHEREAS each year, the National Association of Women Business Owners holds their Beyond Glass Ceiling Awards Gala and Fundraiser to honor extraordinary individuals for their contributions to women and women business owners, as well as our community at large; and
WHEREAS Suzanne was named Community Advocate of the year for her work in creating and launching the Virtua Mobile Farmers Market program, which provides affordable fresh fruits and vegetables to food desert communities year-round; and
WHEREAS this major public-health initiative improves the health of thousands of Camden County and Burlington County residents by selling fresh produce at affordable prices, in areas where access to healthy food is limited. The innovative, year-round program also reduces hunger within the community; and
WHEREAS with over 15 years of healthcare experience specializing in health policy, government relations and community advocacy, Suzanne works to advance and support business development and community health initiatives by fostering partnerships and collaborations with other healthcare organizations, educational institutions, insurance companies, IT partners, nonprofit groups and advocacy and trade associations; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council wish to recognize and commend Suzanne Ghee for her efforts to promote healthy living throughout our community, especially for those in need.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, May 29, 2018 to be
Suzanne Ghee Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill, and urge all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in recognizing Suzanne for being a mission-driven, creative thought leader with a focus on connecting and integrating public policy, advocacy and public health into strategic healthcare delivery innovation.
