WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, we wish to honor and thank longtime Cherry Hill resident Nancy Schwartz for her years of service to the Cherry Hill Historical Commission; and
WHEREAS Nancy’s service to the Cherry Hill Historical Commission started when she became a member in 1989. For many years, she dutifully served as the Secretary of the Commission, keeping the minutes and sending acknowledgements of donations; and
WHEREAS throughout her time as a member of the Historical Commission, she contributed to the Cherry Hill Auto Tours Map, volunteered as a docent in the Croft Farm house during Township events, routinely attended meetings and supported Township events, and participated in the Speakers’ Bureau and Oral History Project; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township believe that the Cherry Hill Historical Commission plays an integral role in our community by helping residents understand the cornerstones on which Cherry Hill Township was built, and they acknowledge that the strength of this organization is dependent upon the dedication of their volunteers and the general membership; and
WHEREAS we wish to extend our sincere thanks to Nancy Schwartz for her years of service, and to acknowledge the role she has personally played in making Cherry Hill a wonderful place to live, work and play.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby wish to honor and recognize
Nancy Schwartz
for her dedicated service to Cherry Hill Township, the Cherry Hill Historical Commission, and the residents of Cherry Hill, and ask all citizens to join with me and the members of Township Council in thanking Nancy for her role in making our community a better place to live, work and play, and in wishing her all the best.
