WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and individuals; and
WHEREAS tonight, Cherry Hill resident Elena Montiel is being recognized for her dedication to improving the quality of life of Hispanics and all residents of Camden County; and
WHEREAS Ms. Montiel serves the community in numerous ways, serving as a Health Educator and Tobacco Prevention Specialist, a translator, a Court Interpreter, and an English tutor for the local immigrant population; and
WHEREAS Ms. Montiel is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who has committed herself to sharing her talent with young people, and serving as a positive role model; and
WHEREAS September 15 to October 15, 2017, is nationally recognized at Hispanic Heritage Month, and it is fitting that we recognize those who have had a lasting impact on the community; and
WHEREAS Mayor Cahn and the members of Township Council are honored to recognize Ms. Montiel and the rest of tonight’s honorees, for their exemplary efforts as leaders of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim Friday, October 13, 2017, as

in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in recognizing Elena Montiel for her dedication and lifelong commitment to improving the lives of Camden County’s Hispanic population, and our entire community.
