The vast majority of structure fires that occur within the United States occur in residential occupancies. Often, these fires resulted from factors such as unattended cooking, candle use, improper use of heating devices and careless smoking.
Education is the key to home fire prevention. Upon request, the Cherry Hill Fire Department will conduct a walk-through of your home to identify conditions that could contribute to a fire while providing valuable safety information.
During our visit, we will focus on:
Storage of materials
Use of space heaters
Home escape planning
Requesting a Walk-Through
Submit the request form or call the Office of the Fire Marshal at (856) 795-1340 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to request a home walk-through. Home Safety Walk-Throughs will be scheduled Monday through Saturday, between the hours 1 p.m. to 3 p.m..
We will make every attempt to honor your preferred date, however there may be scheduling conflicts. Please have alternate dates in mind. This a courtesy visit only. The Cherry Hill Fire Department will not issue violations or summonses resulting from the visit, nor will we provide certifications for equipment or systems contained within the dwelling.
